Part Description Touchscreen Displays all the information needed to operate your phone, such as the applications, call status, the Contacts list, the date and time, and the signal and battery strength. Do not expose the inside of your device to water and do not insert foreign objects into the battery compartment. After removing the module, put it back into the device as soon as possible to avoid damage to the device’s interior. Do not forcefully separate the module without pressing the module eject key. Never remove the module when the device is in use. Do not insert a module from another device that is not compatible with your device’s service provider and service area. Follow the instructions contained in your device manuals to ensure the battery and module are inserted correctly. Failure to insert the battery and module correctly may result in damage to the device or device malfunction. Only use the USB cable and charger provided with your device. The use of third party USB accessories may damage the device and void the manufacturer’s limited warranty. Battery Cautions Storage: Avoid storing or leaving battery with no charge remaining. Saved information and settings may become lost or changed, or battery may become unusable. Charge once every six months before storing or leaving unused for a long period. Bulges: Depending on use, bulges may appear near end of battery life. This does not affect safety. Replacing Battery: The battery is a consumable item. It needs to be replaced if operating time shortens noticeably. Purchase a new battery. Cleaning: Clean soiled terminals between battery and phone with a clean, dry cotton swab. Soiled terminals can result in a poor connection and prevent charging, etc. Remove the Battery Follow these instructions to remove your phone’s battery. 2. Grab the middle of the ejected module and pull it out from the device. 3. Hold the battery and module with both hands and separate them from one another in an outward arc (as indicated below) to disconnect the battery terminals. Note: This device is supplied with the battery inserted. When using the device for the first time, check the battery level and fully charge the battery before using the device if necessary. Insert the Battery Follow these instructions to insert your phone’s battery safely and properly. 1. 2. Firmly insert the battery to the module using the arrows to correctly orient the battery. 3. Push the battery module all the way into the device. Note: Never press the module eject key when inserting the module into the device. Note: When inserting the battery into the device, make sure the battery is attached to the module. Charge the Battery Your phone is equipped with a Li-Ion battery. It allows you to recharge your battery before it is fully drained. The battery provides up to 26.0 hours of continuous digital talk time. You can charge your phone’s battery using either the included AC adapter or via a USB connection with your computer. Charge Using the AC Adapter 1. Plug the USB connector into the charger/USB port at the bottom of your phone. 2. Plug the other end of the USB cable into the AC adapter. 3. Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet. The indicator light illuminates when charging starts. The light goes off when the battery is fully charged. Unplug the AC adapter from the outlet, and remove the micro USB cable from the phone and the AC adapter. Note: Always unplug the charger from the wall socket after the phone is fully charged to save unnecessary power consumption of the charger. Charge Using a PC Connection Before using a PC connection to charge your phone, ensure that the computer is turned on. Depending on the type of connection, your phone’s battery may not charge. 1. Insert the small end of the USB cord into the charger/USB port at the bottom of your phone. 2. Insert the large end of the micro USB cord into an external USB port on your computer. 3. After charging, remove the micro USB cable from both the phone and the computer. Nano SIM Card The Nano SIM card is an IC (Integrated Circuit) card containing phone number and other customer information. Handling the Nano SIM Card Keep the following in mind when handling a Nano SIM card. Customer is responsible for any damage caused by inserting Nano SIM card in another-brand IC card reader, etc. Sprint is not responsible in such case. Always keep the IC chip clean. Wipe clean with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid applying labels. May damage the Nano SIM card. See instructions included with the Nano SIM card for handling. ...

The Nano SIM card is replaceable (at cost) in case of loss/damage. Return the Nano SIM card to Sprint when cancelling your subscription. Returned Nano SIM cards are recycled for environmental purposes. Note that Nano SIM card specifications and performance may change without notice. It is recommended that you keep a separate copy of information that is stored on the Nano SIM card. Sprint is not responsible for damages from stored information that is lost. Always follow emergency procedures to suspend service if your Nano SIM card or phone (Nano SIM card inserted) is lost/stolen. For details, contact Customer Service. Always power off the phone before inserting/removing a Nano SIM card. microSD Card Your phone supports the use of an optional microSD card (not included) to expand its storage capacity. Swipe or Slide To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen. Drag To drag, press and hold your finger with some pressure before you start to move your finger. While dragging, do not release your finger until you have reached the target position. Page 24 Flick Flicking the screen is similar to swiping, except that you need to swipe your finger in light, quick strokes. This finger gesture is always in a vertical direction, such as when flicking the contacts or message list. Rotate For most screens, you can automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to landscape by turning the phone sideways. When entering text, you can turn the phone sideways to bring up a bigger keyboard. Note: The Auto-rotate switch needs to be selected for the screen orientation to automatically change. Tap > Tools > Settings > Display tab > Auto-rotate screen. Tip: You can also access the screen rotation setting from the Notifications Window. Pinch and Spread “Pinch” the screen using your thumb and forefinger to zoom out or “spread” the screen to zoom in when viewing a picture or a Web page. (Move fingers inward to zoom out and outward to zoom in.) Activate Your Phone Follow the instructions below to activate your phone if it has not already been activated. Depending on your account or how and where you purchased your phone, it may be ready to use or you may need to activate it on your Sprint account. If you purchased your phone at a Sprint Store, it is probably activated and ready to use. If you received your phone in the mail and it is for a new Sprint account or a new line of service, it is designed to activate automatically. When you turn the phone on for the first time, you should see a Hands Free Activation screen, which may be followed by a PRL Update screen and a Firmware Update screen. Follow the onscreen instructions to continue. If you received your phone in the mail and you are activating a new phone for an existing number on your account (you're swapping phones), you can activate on your computer online or directly on your phone. Activate on your phone: Turn on your new phone. (Make sure the old one is turned off.) Your phone will automatically attempt Hands-Free Activation. Tap Activate to override auto-activation and start the manual activation wizard. Follow the onscreen prompts to complete the activation process. To confirm activation, make a phone call. If your phone is still not activated, visit sprint.com/support for assistance. If you do not have access to the Internet, call Sprint Customer Service at 1-888-211- 4727 from another phone. Tip: Do not press the Power/Lock key while the phone is being activated. Pressing the Power/Lock key cancels the activation process. Note: If you are having any difficulty with activation, visit sprint.com/support. Complete the Setup Screens The setup screens help you set up certain features and preferences on your phone. Once your phone has been turned on, you will see a Accessibility message. You can then complete the setup process.
