DANGER
Adjusting the cutting-height levers could bring your
hands into contact with a moving blade and result
in serious injury.
• Stop the engine and wait for all movement to
stop before adjusting the cutting height.
• Do not put your fingers under the housing when
adjusting the cutting height.
1. Pull the cutting-height lever toward the wheel

2. Release the cutting-height lever and seat it securely in
the notch.
3. Adjust all the wheels to the same cutting-height setting.

Starting the Engine

1. Connect the spark-plug wire to the spark plug.

3. Firmly push in the primer

4. Hold the blade-control bar in the Run/Shift position,
about 2.5 cm (1 inch) below the handle

5. Pull the starter handle lightly until you feel resistance,
pull it sharply, then allow it to return slowly to the rope
guide on the handle.
Note: If the engine does not start, repeat steps
through 5.

Stopping the Engine

Release the blade-control bar. Both the engine and the blade
should stop within 3 seconds. If they do not, contact an
Authorized Service Dealer.
Note: Close the fuel valve
starting the engine soon afterward.
