Note: Determine the left and right sides of the machine
from the normal operating position.

Installing the Handle

Parts needed for this procedure:
2 Oval-head bolt (Model 22163 only)
6 Oval-head bolt (Model 22164 only)
2 Hex head bolt (Model 22164 only)
2 Locknut (Model 22163 only)
6 Locknut (Model 22164 only)
1 Upper handle (Model 22164 only)
1 Cable tie
Procedure
1. Attach the upper handle to the lower handle using 4
oval-head bolts and 4 locknuts (model 22164 only).
Note: Ensure that the bolt heads are to the outside
of the handle.
2. Remove the bolts and washers from the mower
housing that will hold the handle to the housing
(model 22163 only).
3. Move the handle to the operating position.
4. Attach the handle to the mower housing with the
bolts and washers that you removed in step 2 (model
22163 only) but do not tighten them (Figure 3).

2 Install the handle.

Fill the crankcase with oil.

Adjust the handle height.

5. Attach the handle braces to the lower handle sides
with 2 oval-head bolts and secure them finger tight
using 2 locknuts (Figure 3).
Important: Ensure that the bolt heads are to
the inside of the handle.
