Checking the Oil Level
1. Park the machine on a level surface, disengage the PTO,
set the parking brake, stop the engine, and remove the
ignition key.
2. Open the hood.
3. Clean around the oil dipstick (Fig. 18) so dirt cannot
fall into the filler hole and damage the engine.
4. Unscrew the oil dipstick and wipe the metal end clean
(Fig. 18).
5. Screw the oil dipstick fully onto the filler tube (Fig. 18).
Unscrew the dipstick again and look at the metal end. If
the oil level is low, slowly pour only enough oil into the
filler tube to raise the level to the Full mark. Tighten the
dipstick.
6. Start and run the engine at idle for 30 seconds.
7. Shut the engine off and wait for 30 seconds. Check the
oil level again and add oil if necessary.
Important
Do not overfill the crankcase with oil
because the engine may become damaged.
