Whenthe cooktopis cool, washthe
enamelfinish withsoap and water
or a mildabrasivecleanserapplied
witha damp cloth. Rinsewith
cleanwater,dry witha softcloth.If
youwish, occasionallyapplya thin
coatof mild cleaningwax.
If
youspill foodswith a lot of acid
in them(tomatoes,sauerkraut,fruit
juices,etc.) or foodswith high
sugarcontent,cleanthem up as
soonas possible.Ifaliowed to set,
thesefoodscouldcausea dullspot.
Also,no matter howstubbornthe
foodstain,neveruseharsh abrasive
cleansers.They couldpermanently
damagethe enamelsurface.
It'sa goodideato wipethe control
panelcleanafter eachuse of the
cooktop.For a morethorough
cleaning,the knobscan be removed
bypullingthem offthe knob stems.
Cleanwithmild soapand water,
rinsewithclean waterand polish
dry witha soft cloth.
Do notuse abrasivecleansers,
strongliquidcleanersor oven
cleanerson the controlpanel.

Gratesshouldbe washedregularly

gmteswitha cloth—don't put them
backon thecooktopwet. When
replacingthegrates,be sure they're
lockedintopositionovertheburners.
Toget rid of burned-onfood,soak
the gratesin a slightlydiluted
liquidcleanser.
Althoughthey'redurable,the
grateswillgraduallylosetheir
shine,regardlessofthe careyou
takeof them. This is dueto their
exposureto hightemperatures.
Topreservethe porcelainfinish
as longas possible,havea pan
on thegratebeforeyouturn on the
burner,and lowerthe flamewhen
foodreachesthedesiredtemperature.

Remove thegratesandlift outthe
chromedrippans.Washthemin
hot, soapywater.Rinsethemwith
clean,hotwaterandpolishthemdry
witha cloth. Neveruse abrasive
cleaneror steelwool-they'llscratch
the surface.Instead,soakthe drip
pansforabout20 minutesin slightly
dilutedliquidcleanseror a mild
solutionof ammoniaand water(1/2
cup of ammoniato onegallonof
water).Aftersoaking,washthem
in hot, soapywater.Rinsewith
cleanwaterand polishwith a cloth.
Do notcleanin self-cleaning oven.
Lift-up Top
Tomakecleaningunderthe top
easier,the top maybe liftedup and
held up by a supportrod thatis
storedunderneath.
Be sureall burnersareturnedoff
and unitis cool. Then removethe
grates,graspthe frontsidesof the
top and lift all the wayup.
Aftercleaningunderthe top with
hot, mild, soapywaterand a clean
cloth, lowerthe top back in place.
Be carefulnottc pinchyourfingers.

The holesin theburnersofyour
cooktopmustbe keptcleanat all
timesfor properignitionandan
even,unhamperedflame.
Cleanthe burnersroutinelyand
especiallyafterbad spillovers.
Burnerslift rightout for cleaning.
Note:A screwholdseachofthe
burnersin placeduringshipment.
Remove the shippingscrewwitha
Phillipshead screwdriver, g raspthe
burnerat the burnerhead andlift
upwardwith a slightmovement
awayfromthe burnercontrols.
Thisdisengages it from thegas
valvesat the frontof the cooktop,
andit liftsout easily.
Toremoveburned-onfood, rub
theburnerswitha dishclothor
non-abrasive pad, then soakthem
in a warmwaterandmild liquid
dishwashing detergentsolution.If
stainsremain, soakthe burnersin a
solutionof hotwaterand a product
usedfor cleaningthe insideof
coffeemakers.After20 minutes,
removethe burners,cool slightly
andrinsethoroughlywith cold
water.Be sure all ofthe solution
is completelyrinsedoff boththe
insideand outsideof the burners.
If necessary,usea straightpinto
cleanthe holesin the burnerhead.
Do notuse a woodenpick or other
objectsthat mightenlargeor break
off andcloga hole.
Beforeputtingtheburner back,dry
it thoroughlyby settingit in a warm
ovenfor 30 minutes.
