PARKING BRAKE
Toset the parkingbrake,fully depressthe brakepedal.Movethe
parkingbrakeleverintothe ON position.Releasethebrakepedal to
allowthe parkingbraketo engage.
Toreleasethe parkingbrake,depressthe brakepedaland movethe
parkingbrakeleverout of the ONpositionand into the OFFposition.
NOTE: The parkingbrakemustbe set if the operatorleavesthe seat
with the enginerunningor the enginewill automatically shut off.
AMMETER
Theammetermeasuresthe electricaloutput of the engine'scharging
system.Undernormaloperatingconditions,with engineat full throttle,
the ammetershouldindicatepositivecharge.
THROTTLE/CHOKE CONTROL LEVER
Thethrottle/chokecontrolleveris
locatedon the right sideof the trac-
tor'sdash panel.This levercontrols
the speedof the engineand, when
pushedall theway forward,the
chokecontrolalso. Whenset in
a givenposition,thethrottlewill
maintaina uniformenginespeed.
iMPORTANT: Whenoperating
the tractorwith the cuttingdeck
engaged,be certainthat the throttle
leveris alwaysin the FAST(rabbit)
position.

IGNITION SWITCH MODULE
Thekey switch moduleis usedto start and stop theengine.It is also
usedto activatethe ReverseCautionMode(bladesoperatewhile
riding in reverse).Insertkey intothe keyswitchmoduleand turn
clockwiseto the STARTposition.
Releasethe key intothe normalmow- o,, . ...... oo,o
ing positiononceengine hasstarted. @
Theheadlightswill be activatedin the
Normal(and ReverseCaution)modes.
Tostop the engine,turnthe ignition
key counterclockwise to the STOP
position.

for detailedinstructionsregarding the IgnitionSwitchModuleand
operatingthetractorin REVERSE CAUTIONMODE.
Neverleavea runningmachineunattended.AlwaysdisengagePTO,
moveshift leverintoneutralposition,set parkingbrake,stop engine
and removekeyto preventunintendedstarting.
DECK LIFT LEVER
Foundon your tractor'srightfender,the deck lift leveris
usedto changethe heightof the cuttingdeck. Touse, move
the leverto the left, thenplacein the notchbest suitedfor
yourapplication.
PTO (BLADE ENGAGE) LEVER
Foundon the tractor'srightfender,the PT0 (bladeengage)
leveris usedto engagepowerto the cuttingdeck or other
(separatelyavailable)attachments.Tooperate,movethe
leverall theway forward.Movingthe leverall the way
rearwardinto the PTOOFFpositiondisengagespowerto
the cuttingdeck/attachment.
NOTE: The PTO(bladeengage)levermustbe in the
disengaged(PTOOFF)positionwhenstartingthe engine.
CUP HOLDER
The tractor'scup holderis locatedon the fenderto the left
of the seat.
SPEED CONTROL LEVER

The speedcontrollever,locatedon the left IF
fender,allowsyouto regulatethe travel
directionand groundspeedof the lawn
tractor.Touse, releasethe parkingbrake
and movethe speedcontrolleverforward
(totravelforward)or rearward(to travelin
reverse).The furtherforwardor rearward
that the leveris moved,the fasterthe
tractorwill travel.
Placethe speedcontrolleverin the Cutting
Speed,or slower,positionwhenmowing.
iMPORTANT: Do NOTattemptto change
the directionof travelwhenthe tractoris
in motion.Seriousdamageto the tractor's
transmissioncould result.Alwaysbring thetractorto a completestop
beforemovingthespeedcontrol leverfrom forwardto reverseor vice
versa.
iMPORTANT: Alwaysset the parkingbrakewhenleaving the tractor
unattended.
SEAT ADJUSTMENT LEVER
Toadjusttheseatforwardor backward on unitsequipped witha quick-
adjustseat,slidethe seatadjustment l everto theleftand reposition the
seatto thedesiredposition. O ncea comfortable position isfound,release
the seatadjustment l everto locktheseatin place.Refer to theAssembly
of thismanual f ormoredetailedinstructions o n theseatadjustments.
BRAKE PEDAL
The brakepedalis locatedon the left side of the lawntractor,along
the runningboard.Depressthe brakepedalpartof theway downto
slowthe tractor'sgroundspeed. Depressthe pedal all the way downto
engagethe disc brakeand bring thetractorto a completestop.
NOTE: The pedalmustbe depressed to startthe engine.Referto
