Troubleshooting

Symptom Probable cause
Nothing The batteries are not loaded properly.

Format the SmartMedia card.
Erase unnecessary files or insert
another SmartMedia card.
Check another folder.
Disconnect the earphone jack.
Adjust the VOLUME control.
Unlock the file ( P.27).
Remove the seal.

Move the recorder.
Set the microphone sensitivity to
CONF mode and try again.
Erase unnecessary index marks
( P.26).
Remove the seal.
Unlock the file ( P.27).
Use the Olympus A321 (for US,
Canada) or A322 (for Europe
except U.K) AC adapter
(Oprional).
Set the POWER/LOCK switch to
OFF.
