Check the opening where the microwave hood will be
installed. The location must provide:
/ 2" X 4" wood studding and 3/8" thickness drywall or
plaster/lath.
/ Support for microwave hood weight of 150 pounds
plus the weight of items placed in the oven or upper
cabinet.

/ 14" clearance between the bottom of microwave hood
and the cooktop.
4 13" recommended upper cabinet depth to allow for
removal or servicing if needed.
/ Protection from draft areas, such as windows, doors
and strong heating vents.
