Focus Frame Selection
When t AREA is selected for F
menu and AF-S is selected for focus mode, the electronic view-
fi nder and LCD monitor off er a choice of 49 focus points and the
optical viewfi nder a choice of 25, allowing photographs to be
composed with the main subject positioned almost anywhere in
the frame. To position the focus frame, press the AF button and
use the command dial (the focus frame can be returned to the
center by pressing MENU/OK).
Q When you switch to the optical viewfi nder, the camera will select the
focus frame closest to that selected in the electronic viewfi nder or
LCD monitor.
When framing pictures in the electronic viewfi nder or LCD moni-
tor, you can choose the size of the focus frame for
ing the AF button and pressing the command control left or
right. Press the control left to reduce the frame by up to 50%,
right to enlarge it by up to 150%. The setting takes eff ect when
you release the AF button.
