In this case the venting is to be adequately supported using either an alternate method suitable to the authority having jurisdiction or the optional roof support. TERMINAL Apply high temperature sealant (not supplied) to the outer edge of CONNECTOR the inner sleeve of the air terminal. Slip the inner coupler a minimum HIGH of 2" (51mm)over the sleeve and secure using a minimum of 3 TEMPERATURE screws. SEALANT FIRESTOP Apply high temperature sealant (not supplied) to the outer edge of UNDERSIDE OF INNER RIGID the of the outside sleeve of the air terminal connector. Slip the outer JOIST PIPE coupler over the sleeve and secure as before. Trim the outer coupler OUTER even with the inner coupler end. RIGID PIPE Thread the air terminal connector / vent pipe assembly down through the roof support and attach, ensuring that a minimum 16" (406mm) of air terminal connector will penetrate the roof when fastened.
