Document Summary

This document will detail how to send and view your email and how to synchronize your
calendar, contacts, to do list and notes. It will also cover instruction on how to use the
phones inbuilt web browser

Activating GPRS

To send/view email your phone sim card will need to have GPRS activated on it. To do this
you will need to contact the telephone helpdesk with the following details:
• Name
• Phone number
• Statement saying you need GPRS activated on your Sim card
The telephone facilities can be contacted via the following:
• Phone ext. 25040
• Email
telephone.facilities@unisa.edu.au
Telephone facilities will send you an email within two business days. This will contain a
message that you will need to SMS to Optus. The current message for the Nokia 3230 is
'Set Nokia buswap2 gprs' and needs to be sent to the number 8888. Optus will reply to the
message with a SMS.
*Please note: if a message from Optus isn't received contact telephone facilities.
When the settings are received the following message will pop up on your phone:
"Configuration settings received Optus BusWAP"
This message needs to be saved. To save the message do the following:
1. open the message by selecting "Show"
2. select save enter password of '1234'
3. select "yes" to activate saved configuration settings
4. select "Done"
Your phone and sim card now have GPRS access.
