    Face Detection You can have the camcorder automatically detect people’s faces and use this information to adjust the focus and set the best exposure for beautiful videos and photos. When there are a number of people in the picture, one person (with the white face frame) will be determined to be the main subject.

    • Face detection cannot be used when the shutter speed used is slower than 1/25 or when the digital zoom is activated at more than 60x zoom (dark blue area on the zoom bar). • When face detection is activated, the slowest shutter speed used by the camcorder is 1/25.

    To activate an effect mode: Activate the selected effect while recording or in record pause mode. PHOTO mode: Activate the selected effect and then press record the photo. NOTES • When you apply a fader, not only the picture but also the sound will fade in or out.

    About the Data Code With every scene or photo recorded, the camcorder keeps a data code (date/time of recording, information about the camera setup, etc.). In mode, this information is displayed on the bottom bar and as information icons; in mode, you can select the information to be displayed with the [Data Code] setting.

    Using a Zoom Remote Controller Operating modes: By attaching the optional RA-V1 Remote Control Adapter to the mini advanced shoe, you can use the optional ZR-2000 or ZR-1000 Zoom Remote Controller. Doing so will allow you to use certain functions while viewing the picture on an external monitor without touching the camcorder.

    Playlist and Scene Operations Dividing Scenes You can divide scenes (original scenes only) in order to leave out the best parts and later cut out the rest.
