  • Page 5 Connect the USB charging cable supplied to the 5V DC power input of the device and to a compatible USB wall charger. * USB power adapter sold separately. For device recharging we recommend to use a 2000 mA USB power adapter like Hamlet XPW220MOB.

    Please refer to your operating system manual for the correct formatting procedure. Any loss, corruption or destruction of data while using a Hamlet drive is the sole responsibility of the user, and under no circumstances will Hamlet be held liable for the recovery or restoration of this data.
  • Page 7 Operation modes of Wi-Fi Mobile Station Hamlet Wi-Fi Mobile Station can be used in different ways depending on the user needs. The different operation modes of the device are shown below. 3.1 USB Hard Drive The device is connected directly to the computer via the USB cable and the hard disk is used as a standard external drive.
  • Page 8 3.3 Access Point The device is connected to an ADSL modem/router with a LAN cable and works as a wireless access point to the Internet. The contents of the hard disk is accessible via Wi-Fi. 3.4 Wireless Repeater The device is connected to an existing Wi-Fi network to extend the coverage area of the wireless signal.
  • Page 9 3.5 Network drive (NAS) The device is connected to an ADSL modem/router with a network cable and works as a network drive (NAS) and access point. The contents of the hard disk is accessible as a network drive via LAN and as wireless hard disk through Wi-Fi.
  • Page 10 Turn on the device pressing the power button. Please wait at least 40 seconds for the Wi-Fi signal to be ready. Open the wireless utility of your operating system and connect to “Hamlet-WiFiDisk-XXXX” wireless network. When requested, input the Wi-Fi key. The default password is “az48486y”.
  • Page 11 4.3 Access Point mode (Internet/Hotel connection) The Access Point mode allows you to use Wi-Fi Mobile Station as access point to the Internet for devices connected to its Wi-Fi network. To provide the Internet connection to the devices, the Wi-Fi enclosure must be connected via a network cable to an ADSL modem or a local area network with Internet access.

Connect to “Hamlet-WiFiDisk-XXXX” wireless network and type in the Wi-Fi key when requested (default password is “az48486y”). Open the web browser, type in http://192.168.169.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  • Page 13 Press the Search all APs button to view the available Wi-Fi networks. Select the network you want to connect the Wi-Fi Mobile Station, if the network is secured enter the Wi-Fi password, and press the Apply button to save the configuration. 10.

Click on the Advanced icon and change the IP address of the Wi-Fi Mobile Station with a new IP address in the same range of the Router (Default Gateway) in the “LAN port IP address setting”...
  • Page 16 13. Click on Router Settings > LAN to Router and select AP Mode to view the following page. 14. Now press the Get Gateway MAC button to automatically get the MAC address of the Router. 15. Once the IP address of the router is detected, press the Change to AP mode button to save the configuration and restart the device.
  • Page 17 Data access modes The data stored on the HDD installed in the Wi-Fi Mobile Station can be accessed in different ways as shown in the following sections. 5.1 Data access using browser Open the web browser of your computer or mobile device. Type in http://192.168.169.1 in the address bar and press Enter.
  • Page 18 5.2 Data access using Android App The “ES File Explorer” app gives you access to the Wi-Fi Mobile Station as a wireless network drive from Android devices. To download the app, access to Google Play Store from your Android device and search for "ES File Explorer".
  • Page 19 5.3 Data access using iOS App The “File Explorer Free” app gives you access to the Wi-Fi Mobile Station as a wireless network drive from iOS devices (iPhone/iPad). To download the app, access to the App Store from your iOS device and search for "File Explorer Free".
  • Page 20 5.4 Data access using SMB The configuration access via the SMB (Samba) protocol allows you to use the hard disk installed in the Wi-Fi Mobile Station as a network drive (NAS) from computers connected via LAN or Wi-Fi. Connecting using Windows In Windows Explorer, click Map Network Drive.

    Firmware upgrade You can update the firmware of Wi-Fi Mobile Station through the web interface. Connect to the Wi-Fi network of the device. Open your web browser, type http://192.168.169.1 in the address bar and press Enter to access the web interface. When the login window appears, enter the user name (admin) and password (admin) and press OK.
