Checking the front brake pads

Inspect the brake pads from in front of the vehicle. The linings must be at
least 1 mm (0.04 in) thick.

T THEIR MOST WORN POINT BRAKE PAD LININGS SHOULD NOT BE THINNER THAN
OTHERWISE THEY COULD LEAD TO BRAKE FAILURE
OFF HAVING YOUR BRAKE PADS CHANGED

F THE BRAKE PADS ARE REPLACED TOO LATE SO THAT THE LINING IS PARTLY OR ENTIRE
LY WORN

THEREBY IMPARING THE BRAKING EFFECT AND DESTROYING THE BRAKE DISC
Replacing front brake pads
– Remove the two screws
– Undo the two pins
ve the brake pads by pulling them downwards.

– Before installing the new brake pads push the brake pistons backwards
with an appropriate screwdriver.
– Insert the brake pads into the brake caliper from below and mount two
new pins. Secure both pins by folding up the edges.
– Apply Loctite 242 to the threads of the screws
Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft.lb).
Adjusting the rear wheel brake cable
You should be able to depress the foot brake pedal 10 - 15 mm before the
rear wheel brake begins to take effect.
10-15 mm
Before adjusting the brake control cable push back the protection cover
Undo the counter nut
red adjustment is achieved. After the adjustment process retighten the
counter nut

FTERWARDS ALWAYS VERIFY THAT THE REAR WHEEL IS TURNING SMOOTHLY
