Hi, I borrowed my son's old WD M12500 S09043R2435 with threaded stud & discovered it needed a new filter. No problem, got a 4000 @ Home Depot. Now have an idiot question. There isn't room on the threads to attach both the rubber gasket & the plastic disc. As his is an older model is it possible filters are now a bit larger? Am thinking of just replacing the plastic disc on top. I don't usually have these silly little problems. Thanks.
To install the filter on a RIDGID WD12500:
1. Slide the Qwik Lock™ filter over the filter cage.
2. Press down on the outside edge of the filter until the rubber gasket seats securely around the base of the filter cage and against the lid.
3. Align the center hole in the top of the filter with the Qwik Lock™ stud on the filter cage.
4. Press firmly near the stud to snap the filter over the ball on the end of the stud.
Make sure the bottom gasket is properly seated to avoid debris bypassing the filter.
Regarding filter sizes, the same type of filter (e.g., VF4000) is compatible with multiple RIDGID models, including the WD12500, indicating that standard filter sizes are used across several models.
