Adjusting the Exposure Compensation

Adjust the exposure compensation to a positive value to avoid making
the subject too dark when it is backlit or shot against a bright
background. Adjust the exposure compensation to a negative value to
avoid making the subject too bright in night shots or when shot against
a dark background.

Adjust the exposure
compensation.
1. Use the exposure compensation dial
to adjust the exposure
compensation.
• If exposure compensation is available
in a shooting mode, the exposure
compensation lamp will light orange.
• The exposure compensation bar and
the compensation results will display in the LCD monitor.
• When shooting in AEB mode
for AEB shooting is displayed.
To Cancel the Exposure Compensation:
Follow Step 1 to restore the compensation value to [0].
In movie mode, the exposure shift can be set/canceled
