    Mode Dial Using the mode dial, you can set the camera to suit your level and style of photography. To select a mode, align the mode icon with the power- on lamp next to the mode dial.     First Steps Inserting the Battery Your camera uses a rechargeable Nikon EN-EL2 lithium-ion battery (in- cluded). Read Battery Warnings Read and follow all warnings and instructions supplied by the battery manufac- turer.     Charging the Battery The EN-EL2 lithium-ion battery supplied with your camera is not fully charged at shipment. You can charge the battery while it is in the camera by placing it on the COOL-STATION MV-10 (Charging time: about 2 hours for full charge). Connect the EH-61 AC adapter to the COOL-STATION.

    Printing Pictures (DPOF) Pictures taken with your Nikon digital camera can be printed and en- joyed in the same way as pictures taken with a film camera. Using the Print Set option in the camera playback menu, you can specify the pic- tures to be printed, the number of prints, and the information to be in- cluded with each print.
