Quick Tips

Detailed troubleshooting information for the module is available in its
Installation and Getting Started Guide at www.hp.com/networking/support.
Some basic tips include:
The module fails to boot.
Be patient. The module takes several minutes to boot initially, and you must
not interrupt this process.
You might also check the switch's software version. It must be K.14.65 or
later. Also remember that, although the module is hot swappable, you
must reboot the switch before installing the module in a slot that used to
house a module of another type.
The module fails to receive a DHCP address, or you cannot access the
module at the static address that you set with the CLI.
Verify that the module's internal port 2 is in the correct VLAN. Enter
vlan <ID> untagged <slot>2.
The switch reports the module as failed.
Installing applications that include WinPcap (such as Wireshark) can
cause this problem. To resolve the issue, refer to the troubleshooting
chapter in the Installation and Getting Started Guide. This guide also
explains the proper methods for installing such applications.
Disabling the module's internal port 2 can also cause this problem.
In the HP zl switch CLI, enter interface <slot>2 and
enable.
If this command does not fix the problem, and you cannot access
neither the module CLI nor can you reach the server running on
the module, you must access the module's Special Administration
Console (SAC) to fix the problem. Refer to the troubleshooting
chapter in the Installation and Getting Started Guide.
