TROUBLESHOOTING
Incorrect
operations
are often
mistaken
for
trouble
and
malfunctions.
If
you
think
something
is
wrong
with
this unit,
check
the
points
below.
Investigate
the other
components
and
electrical
attachments
being used.
If
the trouble
cannot be
rectified
after
the
checks
listed
below,
consult
your nearest
PIONEER
authorized service center
or
your
dealer.
Symptom
1
.
The
KARAOKE
part
cannot
be
played back.
(The
original
vocals
cannot
be
turned
off.)
2.
The
KARAOKE
part
cannot
be
played back,
though
the
MULTIPLEX
BALANCE
knob
is
turned to the
KARAOKE
side.
Cause
The
MULTIPLEX
BALANCE
knob
is
turned
to
the vocal
side.
3.
The
original
vocals
cannot be
replaced with
your
vocals
though
the
VOCAL
PARTNER
button
is
pressed.
The
KEY
CONTROL
function
cannot be used on
the
DM-
V161
for
exclusive use.
Sounds
cannot be
heard
at
the time
of playing
back
a
tape on the cassette
deck
connected
to
the
MA-9.
Tape-recording
cannot be
performed on
the cassette
deck connected
to the
MA-9.
The
position of
the
MULTIPLEX
/
STEREO
button
is
not
correct.
The
STEREO
ONE
TOUCH KARAOKE
button
is
not pressed.
Remedy
Turn
the
MULTIPLEX
BALANCE
knob
to the
KARAOKE
side.
The volume
of
the
microphone
is
too
low.
Your
singing
voice
is
too
low.
The
control mini-plugs of
the
microphone
are
not
connected
to
the
MIC
CONTROL
jack.
The MIC
switch
is
not turned
ON.
The power
supply
of
the
MA-9
is
not turned
ON.
The
TAPE PLAY
/
REC
button
is
not
in
the
ON
position.
The
TAPE PLAY
/
REC
button
is
not
in
the
OFF
position.
For
a
multiplex source, turn
the
indicator of
the
MULTIPLEX
/
STEREO
button
on.
For
an
ordinary stereo source, turn the
indicator of
the
MULTIPLEX
/
STEREO
button
off.
Turn
the
indicator of
the
STEREO
ONE-
TOUCH KARAOKE
button
on.
Increase the
sound
volume.
Sing
louder.
Connect
the
control mini-plugs to
the
MIC
CONTROL
jack.
Turn
the
MIC
switch
ON.
Turn
the
power
on.
Set the
TAPE PLAY
/
REC
button
to
the
ON
position to turn
on
the
indicator.
Set the
TAPE PLAY
/
REC
button
to
the
OFF
position to turn off
the
indicator.
