OPERATING
METHOD
FOR
KARAOKE
PLAY
(Tape-recording your vocal with the
KARAOKE
play)
When
the
MA-9
is
connected
to a
cassette deck,
you
can
tape-record
your
vocals using
a cassette
deck
with the
TAPE PLAY
/
REC
button
of
the
MA-9
at
OFF
(with
the
indicator
turned
off).
NOTE:
If
tape-recording
is
performed
with the
STEREO
ONE TOUCH
KARAOKE
button
to
ON,
it
results
in
monaural
recording.
(Microphone)
When
using
the
optional
PIONEER
DM-V161
microphone,
connect
the
control mini-plugs to
the
MIC
CONTROL
jack.
Pressing the control
key
button
of
the
microphone changes an
music
source
to a
lower
or
higher
pitch.
But the
ONCE MORE
button
on
the
microphone
is
not usable
for
the
MA-9.
(Multiplex
source)
This kind of
source
includes the
MULTIPLEX
KARAOKE
tape,
MULTIPLEX
KARAOKE
LASER
DISC,
etc.
Generally a vocal
part
plus
its
accompaniment
(original
vocal
part)
is
recorded
for
the
right
channel,
and
another music source
(KARAOKE
part)
is
recoded
for
the
left
channel. Turning the
MULTIPLEX
BALANCE
knob changes
the channel
gradually to
the
original
vocals
or
the
KARAOKE
part.
(Howling)
When
the
sound volume
is
turned
up
at
the time
of
using
a
microphone,
a
howling
sound
may
be heard from
the speaker
system.
The
howling
phenomenon
occurs because
the
sounds
played
back through
the speakers
are
picked
up
again
by
the
microphone and
oscillate
in
the speaker system.
In
such
a case,
hold the
microphone
further
away
from
the speaker
system
or
turn
down
the
sound volume
of
the stereo
amplifier.
Since
howling
may
depend on
the
directional characteristics of
the
microphone, changing the
direction or position of
the
microphone
can
also
improve
the
situation.
(When
not using the
MA-9)
Turn
off
the
power.
If
the
power
remains
on,
it
may
result
in
interference.
