FEATURES AND CONTROLS
a - Loosen friction (counterclockwise)
• Side Handle Gear Shift ‑ Controls gear shift.
NOTE: The outboard is equipped with a rewind starter lock‑out mechanism. The throttle grip will have to be in
the start (slow speed) position in order to start engine.
• Throttle Grip ‑ Controls engine speed.
Avoid possible serious injury or death from loss of boat control. Maintain sufficient steering friction to prevent
the outboard from steering into a full turn if the tiller handle or steering wheel is released.
• Steering Friction Adjustment ‑ Adjust this lever to achieve the desired steering friction (drag) on the tiller
handle. Move lever to the left to tighten, or move lever to the right to loosen.
