    The service tag number is an alphanumeric code on a bar code label located on the bottom of the computer. The number is unique to your computer and allows Dell technical assistance personnel to identify the computer and its configuration quickly if you call for assistance.

Do not remove the hard-disk drive if the computer is in suspend mode or if the drive access indicator is lit.

Every primary hard-disk drive from Dell is physically formatted before it is sent to you. Use the program(s) provided by your operating system to partition and logically format the hard-disk drive.

    Changing the Track Stick Cap Using the Track Stick Cursor Pointing Devices Your Dell portable computer is equipped with the unique Dell DualPoint integrated pointing device. The DualPoint integrated pointing device supports two types of cursor pointing devices (see Figure 1 Figure 2) that perform traditional mouse functions: the touch pad and the track stick.
