BASIC OPERATIONS

v Selection Function
The first step in using the system is to select one of the seven basic functions.
1. SOURCE
Press SOURCE, you can select TV, S-VIDEO1, AV1, S-VIDEO2, AV2 or DV function.
S-VIDEO1/AV1/S-VIDEO2/AV2 are used to watch and/or listen to an external device connected to the front rear
panels of your DVD Recorder.
If you want to change the source function from the disc-playing mode, please press STOP twice. Then press SOURCE to
select another function, such as AV, S-VIDEO, DV and so on.
If you want to change to playing a disc when you are in another source function, please press PLAY/PAUSE. Then, the unit
will start to playback the disc.
2. DV Function
Press DV to watch/record from the front DV input.
Use the followings keys to navigate disc menus.
•
MENU/PBC Press to display the disc menu for the currently loaded DVD disc, or switch the PBC (Play Back Control)
function (VCD 2.0 only) to ON or OFF.

Arrow Buttons Press to highlight options in the on screen menus.
•
ENTER Press to confirm selections in the on screen menus.
•
0 – 9 Press to make direct selections in some on screen menus.
•
RETURN Press to display the PCB menu (VCD 2.0 only) in PBC on mode.

Additional Disc Playback Options

•
To freeze playback, press PLAY/PAUSE.
•
To advance one frame at a time when paused, press step.
•
To resume normal playback, press PLAY.
•
To skip to the next or previous chapter/track, press >>| or |<<.
•
To visually scan forward and backward at variable speeds, press >> or <<
•
To play in slow motion, press SLOW.
•
To stop playback, press STOP once. To resume playback from the last stopped point, press PLAY. To stop playback
completely and restart the disc, press STOP twice.

Basic DVD Function

Playing a DVD, CD or VCD

1. Power on the system.
2. Press OPEN/CLOSE on the front panel or remote control to open the disc tray.
3. Place the disc in the tray with the label side facing up. If the disc has two sides,
place the disc with the side you want to play facing down.
4. Press OPEN/CLOSE again to close the disc tray.
5. If the system does not automatically playback the disc when the disc tray
is closed, press PLAY/ PAUSE to begin play.
