1.
Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas invite injuries.
Keep children away. Children must never be allowed in the work area. Do not let them handle this product.
2.
3.
Store idle equipment. When not in use, tools must be stored in a dry location to inhibit rust. Always lock up tools
and keep out of reach of children.
4.
Use the right tool for the job. Do not attempt to force a small tool or attachment to do the work of a larger indus
trial tool. There are certain applications for which this tool was designed. It will do the job better and more safely
at the rate for which it was intended. Do not modify this tool, and do not use this tool for a purpose for which it was
not intended.
Use eye and ear protection. Always wear ANSI-approved impact safety goggles under an ANSI-approved full face
5.
shield, appropriate hearing protection, and an ANSI-approved dust mask or respirator.
Do not exceed the maximum air pressure of 90 PSI. Use compressed air only. Never use combustible gas as a
6.
power source.
Disconnect air hose and release any built-up air pressure. Never service the Blast Gun or disassemble with the
7.
air hose attached. Always release any built-up air even after disconnecting hose. Disconnect the Blast Gun when
not in use.
Never point the Steel Nozzle (13) at yourself or any other person or animal.
8.
9.
WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities con-
tain chemicals known (to the State of California) to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Some
examples of these chemicals are: Lead from lead-based paints, crystalline silica from bricks, cement, and other ma-
sonry products, arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber.(California Health & Safety Code § 25249.5, et
seq.)
10.
WARNING: The warnings, cautions, and instructions discussed in this instruction manual cannot cover all possible
conditions and situations that may occur. It must be understood by the operator that common sense and caution are
factors which cannot be built into this product, but must be supplied by the operator.
WARNING: This product, when used for abrasive blasting and similar applications, produces chemicals known to the
11.
State of California to cause cancer and birth defects (or other reproductive harm). (California Health & Safety Code
§ 25249.5, et seq.)
12.
WARNING: Abrasive blasting with sand containing crystalline silica can cause serious or fatal respiratory disease.
Exposure to crystalline silica may cause silicosis (a serious lung disease), cancer and death. Exposure to aluminum
oxide (a dust generated from material removing processes) can result in eye, skin and breathing irritation. Always
use a NIOSH (National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) approved respirator and safety goggles. Avoid
skin exposure. Proper ventilation in the work area is required.
1.
We recommend that you attach an air hose
wrap Pipe Wrap Tape (not included) around the male threads of the quick connector, then thread the quick connector
firmly onto the Inlet Adapter (2). (See Assy. Diagram, next page.)
2.
Remove the cap from the Hopper (19) and fill the Hopper with glass or plastic abrasive beads. Glass abrasive beads
(SKU 42876) are available at Harbor Freight Tools. Then, replace the cap.
IMPORTANT: In order to keep the beads from accidentally spilling out of the Nozzle (13), do not point the Nozzle
downward. Note: Do not use silica for blasting .
3.
Prior to using the Blast Gun, protect other people (and property) in the work area from flying debris such as abrasive
beads, chips, dust, etc. Provide barriers or shields as needed.
4.
Connect the compressor's air hose to the pre-installed quick connector on the Blast Gun. Turn the compressor's
regulator to 90 PSI. CAUTION: Do not exceed 90 PSI.
5.
Turn on the compressor, turn the Gun's Regulator (17) to ON, and grip the Blast Gun firmly with both hands.
6.
IMPORTANT: Always test the spray pattern and intensity of the Blast Gun on a piece of scrap material.
7.
Aim the Nozzle (13) toward the object that is to be sandblasted. Then, squeeze the Trigger (4) to turn on the Blast
Gun.
8.
If it becomes necessary to refill the Hopper (19), release pressure on the Trigger (4) of the Blast Gun. Turn off
the air compressor. Squeeze the Trigger once again to release any compressed air. Then, refill the Hopper.
9.
When finished using the Blast Gun, release pressure on the Trigger (4) of the Blast Gun. Turn off the air compressor.
Squeeze the Trigger once again to release any compressed air. Disconnect the Blast Gun from its air supply. Then
store the tool in a dry, clean, safe location out of reach of children and other unauthorized people.
10.
NOTE: Always dispose of used abrasive bead media according to local solid waste guidelines.
