Troubleshooting ...
Possible cause
Plug is not inserted or the
appliance is not switched on.
Power outlet does not carry any
power.
Power cord is damaged.
Overheat protection has tripped
(possibly due to clogged sucti-
on channels, dirty filters, etc.)
Dust bag is full.
Filter is dirty or clogged.
Nozzle, telescopic suction tube
or suction hose are clogged up.
Suction regulator is open.
The power setting does not
suit the flooring.
The attached nozzle does not
fit the flooring.
The "carpet/hard floor" switch is
in the wrong position for the
particular type of floor.
Sucked-in particles have beco-
me jammed.
Solution
Insert the plug into a mains socket
and switch on the appliance.
Test the appliance at another
socket which you are sure carries
current.
Have the power cord replaced by
an authorised Fakir service centre.
Switch off and unplug the applian-
ce. Eliminate the cause of over-
heating (e.g. clogged suction
channels, dirty filters, etc.). Wait
30 minutes and let the appliance
cool down. Then switch on the
appliance again.
Change dust bag.
Clean or change the correspon-
ding filter.
Eliminate clogging. If necessary,
use a wooden stick (e.g. a
broomstick) to do this.
Close suction regulator.
Set the power to the setting
suggested for the flooring.
Attach the correct nozzle.
Set the "carpet/hard floor" switch
to the correct position for the type
of floor.
Remove particles. If necessary,
use a long wooden stick (e.g. a
broomstick).
