When the engine begins to fire:

Set the Master Control lever (6) to
N
the starting throttle position (5).
Press in button to open the
N
decompression valve.
Hold and start your saw as
N
described.
As soon as the engine runs

Press down throttle trigger lockout
N
and the blip the throttle trigger (7) –
the Master Control lever (6) moves
to the run position (8) and the
engine settles down to idling speed.

Pull the hand guard back toward the
N
front handle.
The chain brake is now disengaged –
your saw is ready for operation.
NOTICE

Always disengage chain brake before
accelerating the engine. High revs with
the chain brake engaged (chain locked)
will quickly damage the clutch and chain
brake.
At very low outside temperatures:
Allow engine to warm up at part
N
throttle.
Shut odd the engine.
Move the Master Control lever to the
N
stop position (0).
If the engine does not start
If you did not move the Master Control
lever from the choke shutter closed
position to the starting throttle position
quickly enough, the engine may be
flooded.
Move the Master Control lever to the
N
stop position (0).
Remove the spark plug – see
N
"Spark Plug".
Dry the spark plug.
N
Crank the engine several times with
N
the starter to clear the combustion
chamber.
Refit the spark plug – see "Spark
N
Plug".
Set the choke lever to the starting
N
throttle position – even if the engine
is cold.
Press in button to open the
N
decompression valve.
Now start the engine.
