Remove silencer cover 3.

Slacken screw 1 of the clamp.
Remove screw 2 and locking

washer 3.
Turn silencer 4 clockwise to-
ward the outside.
Securing silencer
ATTENTION
Tightening threaded fasten-
ers to incorrect tightening
torque.
Damage, or threaded fasteners
work loose.
Always have the security of
the fasteners checked by a
specialist workshop, preferably
an authorised BMW Motorrad
dealer.
Turn silencer 1 counter-clock-
wise until it is seated against
the rear footrest bracket.
Install washer 2 and screw 3.
Silencer to footrest

19 Nm
Push clamp 1 as far forward as
possible and position it with the
recess engaging the projection
(arrow).
Tighten the clamp.
Clamp to silencer and
exhaust manifold
22 Nm
