Note: For optimal performance, your phone should
be at least 12 inches (30 centimeters) from the TTY
device. Placing the phone too close to the TTY
device may cause high error rates.
set TTY mode
When you set your phone to a TTY mode, it
operates in that mode whenever the TTY device
is connected:
Press # # 8 8 9 # from standby mode. (An
informational message is displayed.)

Select one of the following Options and

option
Disable Disable TTY, VCO, and HCO modes.
TTY Transmit and receive TTY
characters.
option
VCO Receive TTY characters but
transmit by speaking into
microphone.
HCO Transmit TTY characters but
receive by listening to earpiece.
When your phone is in a TTY mode, your phone
displays the international TTY mode, the
international TTY symbol, and the mode setting
during an active TTY call.
return to voice mode
To return to standard voice mode, select
Disable from the Options menu.
