indicating that the Roadside Companion unit is searching for a signal.
When the "IN USE" light turns solid red and the unit chirps, this
indicates that the call is going through. You will hear a brief intro-
duction confirming contact with your Roadside Companion monitoring
center that says: "Welcome to Roadside Companion Services.
Please stand by for your Roadside Companion Professional."

Listen for a Roadside Companion professional who will greet you by name.
If your current location is required during the call, your Roadside Companion professional will
5
activate your unit for a location update. While activating the unit, you will lose voice contact
with the Roadside Companion professional for 5-7 seconds. Your Roadside Companion professional
will quickly access your current location.
In the event of an emergency, your Roadside Companion professional will contact the local

emergency service provider that is best equipped to meet your needs, and stay on the line with you
and the service provider until you are satisfied that your needs are met.
7
Once your call is completed, your Roadside Companion professional will end the call for you.
Occasionally, the communication signal can be dropped. Unlike other devices, which require you to redial the number
by yourself, the Roadside Companion will automatically redial the monitoring center if the signal is dropped.
Please be assured that if this happens the Roadside Companion will make several attempts to re-dial until you are connected
