The Singer Stylist 774 uses a Class 15 bobbin. The bobbin is typically made of clear plastic, although metal Class 15 bobbins are also available. However, it is recommended to use plastic bobbins for this model to ensure proper tension and avoid damage. The standard size for a Class 15 bobbin is approximately 20.3 mm in diameter and 11.7 mm in height.

To reassemble the bobbin area on a Singer Stylist 774 sewing machine after cleaning, follow these steps:
1. Turn Off the Machine – Ensure the machine is powered off and unplugged for safety.
2. Place the Bobbin Case – Position the bobbin case correctly in the bobbin area. Align the notch on the bobbin case with the positioning mark inside the machine.
3. Insert the Bobbin – Place a wound bobbin into the bobbin case, ensuring it unwinds in the correct direction. Guide the thread through the tension slot.
4. Reattach the Bobbin Cover Plate – Position the bobbin cover plate over the bobbin area and secure it in place.
5. Reinstall the Needle Plate – If you removed the needle plate, align it properly and screw it back in place.
6. Check for Proper Installation – Turn the handwheel slowly to ensure the bobbin and case are properly seated and moving smoothly.
7. Thread the Upper Thread and Test – Thread the upper thread, lower the presser foot, and turn the handwheel to pick up the bobbin thread.
8. Run a Test Stitch – Sew a few stitches on scrap fabric to verify that the machine functions correctly.
Ensure all parts are properly aligned and secured before use.

Took my singer 774 to a shop for repair of feed dog. He did more harm than good. It had leaked oil and looks disgusting. Not even sure it works. I’m looking for a video on cleaning and maintenance for the Singer 774. Any ideas?
Need help?
