ASCII Character Codes
The
American
National
Standards Institute (ANSI)
devised 128
character
codes
that
allow
worldwide com-
munication
between
computers. These are
known as the
ASCII
(American Standard Code
for
Information
Inter-
change) codes. They define
the
signals generated by the
keys on your computer
keyboard,
and
should be
changed only by
experienced programmers.
