safety InstructIons: Keep your work area clean and free from clutter. Have a safe working environment where the tool is not exposed to rain or moisture, that is well lit and there are no flammable materials in the area. Guard yourself against electrical shock by avoiding body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces. All visitors or bystanders should be kept at a safe distance at all times and are not to touch the tool, material or power source. This tool should be stored in a cool, dry, secure place, disconnected from all power sources. Do not force this tool. Cutting at a slow and steady pace where the saw is doing all the work is not only safer, it will also do a better job and extend the tool’s working life. This tool is only to be used for, the purposes listed in this manual. Misuse of this tool is dangerous and automatically voids all warranties and guarantees. Dress properly. Do not wear loose hanging garments or jewellery as this may get caught in moving components. Always wear a hair net for long hair, rubber work gloves and non-skid footwear are recommended when using this tool. Wear safety glasses, hearing protection and face or dust masks at all times when operating this saw. 10. This saw is fitted with a dust extraction nozzle. Please ensure that it is hooked up correctly before use. 11. Never carry this saw by its cord or yank it from the power point. Keep this cord away from sharp objects, water and oil. 12. Always use clamps or vices to secure the work piece you are cutting. 13. Keep a firm footing and stay balanced at all times. 14. Make sure the saw blade is kept sharp and clean at all times. Please follow all service instructions accurately. Do not attempt to service this tool. Take it to a licensed repairer of Swarts Tools. 15. Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use tool while tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury. 16. Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before plugging in. Carrying tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. 17. Remove adjusting key or wrench before turning the tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to any moving part of the tool may result in personal injury. electrIcal safety 1) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs 2) Don’t expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
power tool use and care Do not force the power tool, Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed. Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. Disconnect the power tool plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally. Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users. Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools. Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits, etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation. specIfIc safety InstructIons for the twIn saw Do not attempt to remove jammed or excess material while the blades are still spinning and the saw is plugged in. Always check that the blade guard is functioning properly before use. Never restrain the guard. If the guard is stick- ing or not retracting properly do not use the saw. Send it to an authorised Swarts Tools Repair Centre. Regularly blow away all saw dust and debris with compressed air including in the guard. Ensure the saw is un plugged before starting this process. Always use the handle provided to move the guard and only when necessary. Always ensure the guard is completely closed before placing the tool down. Be aware at all times that the blades will still spin after the switch is released. Always hold the saw by the insulated gripping surface. If you contact power with the saw and the are holding metal components those components will become live. Only use Swarts Tools blades and accessories with this saw. Use of other blades can cause a blade collision or damage. Always ensure when carrying or transporting the saw that you do not come in contact with the blade even if off 10. Use the machine only for dry cutting. Penetration of water into the machine increases the risk of an electric shock.

causes and operator preVentIon from kIckback FURTHER SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL SAWS - Kickback causes and related warnings Causes and operator prevention of kickback: • Kickback is a sudden reaction to a pinched, bound or misaligned saw blade, causing an uncontrolled saw to lift up and out of the workpiece toward the operator; • When the blade is pinched or bound tightly by the kerf closing down, the blade stalls and the motor reaction drives the unit rapidly back toward the operator; • If the blade becomes twisted or misaligned in the cut, the teeth at the back edge of the blade can dig into the top surface of the wood causing the blade to climb out of the kerf and jump back toward the operator. Kickback is the result of saw misuse and/or incorrect operating procedures or conditions and can be avoided by taking proper precautions as given below. Maintain a firm grip with both hands on the saw and position your arms to resist kickback forces. Position your body to either side of the blade, but not in line with the blade. Kickback could cause the saw to jump backwards, but kickback forces can be controlled by the operator, if proper precautions are taken. When a blade is binding, or when interrupting a cut for any reason, release the trigger and hold the saw motionless in the material until the blade comes to a complete stop. Never attempt to remove the saw from the work or pull the saw backward while the blade is in motion or kickback may occur. Investigate and take corrective action to eliminate the cause of blade binding. When restarting a saw in the workpiece, centre the saw blade in the kerf and check that saw teeth are not engaged in the material. If the saw blade is binding, it may or kickback from the workpiece as the saw is restarted. Support large panels to minimise the risk of blade pinching and kickback. Large panels tend to sag under their own weight. Supports must be placed under the panel on both sides, near the line of cut and near the edge of the panel. Do not use dull or damaged blades. Unsharpened or improperly set blades produce narrow kerf causing excessive friction, blade binding and kickback. Use extra caution when making a “plunge cut” into existing walls or other blind areas. The protruding blade may cut objects that can cause kickback. When restarting a cut that has already been started ensure you are in the middle of the kerf and the blade can spin freely Always support both sides of the job, if the job bends towards the saw under its own weight it will jam. Always know what is behind the area you are cutting as you may come in contact with something on the other side. 10. Most importantly, use common sense, if you feel you shouldn’t be using it the way you are or if you are unsure of what you are doing then don’t do it. Please call or email the Swarts Tools support team and we can clarify.
warnIng Do not let familiarity with the tool make you relax the rules; it only takes a fraction of a second for something to go wrong. Always let the blades get to full speed before commencing cutting. Always ensure that both blades contact the job at the same time. The side of the blade cannot be used for cutting. Intended use This Saw is supplied with TCT saw blades that are only intended for use on Metal, Wood and Plastic. If you are using the Diamond blades they may only be used for cutting Stone and Ceramics. usIng the saw Always use this saw according to the instructions in the manual Never place the saw on a piece of the material that will fall off once cut Always use the wax strips provided. All by - standers must be a minimum of 5 metres away unless you have an approved barrier by WHS standards InstructIon booklet InstructIon booklet...
Speed is the rate you push the saw through the material you are cutting. Speed is determined by the density, thickness and type of material being cut. Refer to picture 6 when cutting materials less than 5mm thick, feed the blades in with a downwards motion until the blades protrude 10 to 12mm out the other side. If the speed is too low the blades will only press down on the material rather than cut it. If the speed it too fast this will cause an overload, which will result in damage to the blades. usIng the VarIable speed It is important that you use the correct blade speed when using this saw. You must use appropriate speeds for different materials and thicknesses. Always follow the guide below: SW1075 SW1080 Material Speed Grade Maximum Material Thickness Maximum Material Thickness Plastic 1 To 4 30mm 45mm Steel 4 To 6 5mm (3mm wall thick tubing) Wood 4 To 6 30mm...

maIntenance and serVIce Maintenance and Cleaning Before commencing any work on the machine itself, disconnect the mains plug. For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean. The retracting blade guard must always be able to move freely and retract automatically. Therefore, always keep the area around the retracting blade guard clean. Remove dust and chips by blowing out with compressed air or with a brush. Saw blades that are not coated can be protected against corrosion with a thin coat of acid-free oil. Before use, the oil must be removed again; otherwise the wood will become soiled. Resin and glue residue on the saw blade produces poor cuts. Therefore, clean the saw blade immediately after use. If the machine should fail despite the care taken in manufacturing and testing procedures, repair should be carried out by an authorised service centre. serVIce Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts.
