a mild liquid detergent and wipe off carefully with a dry cloth.
CAUTION
!
When cleaning the front panel, NEVER use water
hotter than 105°F and DO NOT pour water onto the
fan coil unit. Do not use abrasive or petroleum-
based cleaners — damage to unit appearance will
result.

TO CLEAN INDOOR COIL

To clean the coil, remove indoor unit front panel, and vacuum
the coil fins. Use care not to bend or damage fins.
TO CLEAN OUTDOOR COIL (OUTDOOR
UNIT)
WARNING
!
Some metal parts and sharp fins of outdoor unit coil
can cause personal injury during cleaning. Clean coil
carefully.
1. Remove any dirt or obstruction from discharge opening.
2. Use a garden hose to spray water on coil. Debris that collects
between coil fins inhibits heat transfer – direct the water
spray between the coil fins and flush out debris.

CLEANING CONDENSATE DRAINS

Clean all drains at the start of each cooling season. Check the
flow by pouring water into the drain.
Do's and Don'ts For Proper Air Conditioner Operation
Do's
• Make sure that the air conditioner is connected directly to the
electrical supply.
• Replace both the remote controller batteries when the Low
Battery symbol appears.
• Point the remote controller toward the air conditioner display
panel when transmitting a command.
• Place the remote controller in a location from which there is a
clear line of sight to the display panel.
• Select a moderate temperature setting. Extreme temperature
settings waste electricity.
• Keep doors and windows closed.
• Close air vents in unoccupied rooms to save electricity.
• If a problem arises which you cannot solve, call an authorized
service representative.
• Please read this manual carefully.

Don'ts
• Do not perform cleaning or maintenance activities with the air
conditioner on.
• Do not expose the remote controller to direct sunlight or heat.
• Do not expose the display panel to direct sunlight, or other
sources of strong lighting, as this may interfere with the recep-
tion with of commands from the remote controller.
• Do not block air intakes and outlets on the indoor and outdoor
units.
TECHNICIAN/CUSTOMER
The remote controller contains seven DIP switches, located in
the battery compartment, two of which (Sw. No.3 & Sw. No. 4)
control special system characteristics. The DIP switches default
positions are set according to the model air conditioner installed,
as per the following table.

40GC, 40GS, 40BD, 40BE
Switch No. 3 should be set as follows:
OFF (default) – when only one air conditioner is installed in the
room.
ON – when there are two air conditioners with remote controllers
installed in the room, in one of the remote controllers this switch
must be in the ON position. To activate the new switch setting,
simultaneously press the MENU SELECT and ROOM buttons.
Switch No. 4 should be set as follows:
OFF – displays temperature in °C with a 24-hour clock format
ON – displays temperature in °F, with a 12-hour clock (PM in-
dicator) format.
To operate the special systems characteristics:
1. Remove the batteries
2. Set the DIP switches to the required positions.
3. Wait approximately 2 minutes and return batteries to proper
position.
The following drawing illustrates the default DIP switch positions.
