Note:
On issue B PCB's towards the front of the PCB is on and towards the 64 way
DIN is off for SW2. On issue C PCB's towards the front of the PCB is off and
towards the 64 way DIN is on for SW2. A more detailed explanation of the
decoding modes can be found further on in the manual. The issue of the PCB
can usually be found on the underside of the PCB near the 64 way DIN.
LK's 5-9 select which power rails can be used on the card. When A-B is
shorted together on all these links the external power rails are utilised to
power the card and it will not function in a Leitch chassis. When B-C is shorted
together on all these links the normal +6.5 and -7.5V rails are used.
Front Switches (SW3)
Where possible, the up (off) (away from PCB surface) state is intended to be the default
and the down (on) (towards PCB surface) state is the less often used state. All switches
relate to SW3 on the front of the DEC-6002 board.
Switch no 8:
Off selects auto standard detection. The board can distinguish between
525 and 625 line standards and between coherent and non-coherent
(e.g. VHS) sources. It can't detect between PAL-M or PAL-N and NTSC
or PAL-I respectively, so this selection must be made manually on switch
6. Switch 8 on selects manual standard selection where switches 5,6
and 7 select the standard as described below.
Switch no 7:
When switch 8 sets the manual mode, switch 7 selects between non-
coherent (off) and coherent (on) standards.
Switch no 6:
Whether in auto or manual mode, switch 6 selects between PAL-I or
NTSC (off) and PAL-M or PAL-N (on) standards.
Switch no 5:
When switch 8 sets manual mode, switch 5 selects between 625 line
(off) and 525 line (on) standards.
