This Quickstart Guide will give you the basic information necessary to begin shooting underwater photo/video.
It is highly recommended that you also read your Ikelite housing manual and camera owner's manual.

1. Initial Camera Setup -

made before placing camera in housing.

Insert a fully charged battery.

Set the mode dial to "M" manual. Set shutter speed to 1/60th second or
1/125th second for fast moving subjects. Maximum shutter speed of 1/250th
second is recommended to allow full power flashes from strobes.
Press [Q] Quick Control Button once and release to engage aperture setting
function. Set aperture to F8 for general photography or F22 for macro
(close-up) photography. Press [Q] Button again to disengage aperture
setting function.

Menu:
Set Image quality to "L, 24M", or other desired setting.
Set Image Review to "8 sec." and Red-eye reduc. to "Disable."
Flash control: set Flash firing to "Enable"; E-TTL meter to "Evaluative."
Set Auto Lighting Optimizer to "Off."
Set White Balance to "AWB" Auto. Always use auto white balance (AWB)
when using a strobe/flash. When recording video or shooting pictures
without a strobe, AWB can still be used, but for more accurate and
consistent colors we recommend setting Custom white balance. For best
results, reset Custom white balance
Set Metering Mode to
"Center-weighted average."
Set aspect ratio to "4:3" or other desired setting.
Set Live View shoot. to "Enable" and AF method to "Flexizone AF
Set Continuous AF and Touch Shutter to "Disable."

Menu:
Insert a SD memory Card. Save images on Card BEFORE formatting.
Set Auto Power Off to "15 min" and LCD auto off to "Disable."
Set Date/Time/Zone.
Set Touch Control to "Disable."

Menu:

Set ISO Speed to "200", AF operation to "ONE SHOT."
Set AF Point to the center "1 pt AF."
** All camera settings not listed should be set to the user's preference.

2. Attach Tray with Handles to Housing

Use hardware and instructions located in the clear Ikelite pouch.

3. Open the Housing and Remove the Housing Back

To open the housing, carefully open each Lid Snap. Lid Snaps have a Lock.
To open, push Lid Snap Lock forward and lift as shown (Diagram A). Keep
pressure on each Lid Snap so it does not fly open quickly.

4. Attach the Hotshoe and Camera Mounting Bolt

Slide the Hotshoe Connector forward onto the camera flash mount until it
stops (Diagram B). Hotshoe Connector should be attached before the
camera is secured with the mounting bolt.

Position the camera and lens on the camera tray, and then secure it with the
mounting bolt which threads into the camera's tripod socket (Diagram C).
Use a flathead screwdriver (recommended) or coin to tighten the mounting
bolt so the camera bottom is flush against the tray.
The Leveling Screw is factory preset and does not need to be adjusted.
