    GETTING STARTED Microphone: sound enters the microphone and is then amplified and delivered to you through the ear tip. Pull cord: gently pull on the cord to remove the unit from your ear. Volume control: rotate the top of the volume control (on both left and right units) toward your face to adjust the volume.

  • Page 6 BATTERY Your OVATION Standard uses a size 10A battery. Please use high-quality batteries because they are more con- sistent in size. Lesser-quality batteries can vary in size – even by only 1 or 2 millimeters – making them unusable in your OVATION Standard.

  • Page 9 EAR FITTING TIPS Selecting a fitting tip Your OVATION Standard comes with two sizes of Fitting Tips. The tips are designed to provide a comfortable fit for the majority of ear canal sizes. They allow amplified sound to pass through, but help keep ear wax out of the unit –...
  • Page 10 Removing a fitting tip To remove the fitting tip, gently work the tip out of the notch on the shell and slide if off. Tips can be washed in warm water with mild soap, but be sure to fully dry the tip before reattaching. Don’t attempt to reuse tips that have been torn or damaged.
  • Page 11 Hold the unit between your thumb and forefinger with the pull cord toward the top and the volume control at the bottom. Then, place the canal portion of your OVATION Standard into your ear canal and gently push the unit until it is com- fortably positioned inside your ear.
  • Page 12 Volume Control After placing your OVATION Standard in your ear you can adjust the volume by placing your index fingertip onto the round volume control dial. Rotate the top of the volume control (on both left and right units) forward, toward the front of your face, until the sound level is comfortable.

    TROUBLESHOOTING If you are having mechanical problems with your OVATION Standard, first check the following: • Battery is inserted correctly and the battery door is closed tightly. • Ear tip and wax filter are clean and clear of wax. • Microphone and hearing port is clean and clear of wax.

  • Page 16 When cleaning, pay special attention to clearing the wax filter and ear tips of any wax. Do not rinse or submerge your OVATION in water. In fact do not not use water, alcohol or any other liquid agent to clean your unit as they may damage it.
  • Page 17 Do not drop your OVATION Standard or bang it against hard surfaces. Always be careful when opening and closing the battery door. Do not carry the unit by the battery door, do not remove the unit by pulling on the battery door, and never pull the door back father than what is necessary to insert or remove a battery.

    WARRANTY & RETURNS Warranty The OVATION Standard is covered against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the time you receive your order. If after our examination it is determined that the unit failed to work due to parts, materials or workmanship we will repair or replace it for free.

Licensed physicians who specialize in diseases of the ear are often referred to as otolaryngologists, otologists or otorhinolaryngologists.
