TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Check the following chart before requesting service.
SYMPTOM
POWER
The AC power cord is not connected.
No power.
The DC car cord is not plugged into
the cigarette lighter socket.
The DC car cord fuse is blown.
Cassette is not inserted.
Although the power is on, the
TV/VCR does not operate.
TIMER REC button is depressed.
Moisture condenses on the video
heads.
TV BROADCAST RECEPTION
TV station experiencing problems.
Picture control is not adjusted.
Possible local interference.
Poor or no picture.
Antenna (CATV) connector is not
connected or possible

CAUSE

POSSIBLE SOLUTION
Connect the AC power cord to the
AC outlet.
Connect the DC car cord to the
cigarette lighter socket.
Replace fuse.
Insert a video cassette.
Press the TIMER REC button.
"DEW" appears on the screen. Wait
two or three hours until it goes off.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CATV connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.
Check picture control adjustments.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check CATV connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.
Check CATV connection or VHF/
UHF antenna, reposition or rotate
antenna.
Try another channel.
Check all CATV connections.
Set the TV/CATV Menu option to
the CATV mode.
Contact your Cable TV company.
Make sure TV/CATV menu option is
in the appropriate mode.

antenna.
Check for source of reception
disturbance.
Check that MUTING button has not
been pressed.
