Error messages transmitted or displayed

• At every detection of an error, the printer transmits an error
code on the selected standard OUT channel (serial communica-
tion only). By default, "uart1:" is standard IN/OUT channel.
• In the immediate mode of Intermec Fingerprint, the fi rmware
can detect and display three error conditions, provided the
printhead is lowered and a media feed is executed:
- Error 1005 ("Out of paper")
- Error 1027 ("Out of transfer ribbon")
- Error 1031 ("Next label not found")
• In the Intermec Direct Protocol, two additional error conditions
can be detected:
- Error 1006 ("No fi eld to print")
- Error 1022 ("Head lifted")
Refer to the Intermec Direct Protocol v6.13, Programmer's
Guide.
• To have other error message displayed requires some kind of
an error handling program, for example ERRHAND.PRG (see
the Intermec Fingerprint v6.13, Programmer's Guide), or the
error-handler of the Intermec Direct Protocol (See Intermec
Direct Protocol v6.13, Programmer's Guide). Such programs
will usually also signal detected errors by lighting up the
red error LED lamp and possibly emit some kind of audible
signal.
• In case the CPU is unable to access data on a given address, the
internal program will light up the red error LED independently
of any error handling program.
• If more than one error occurs at a time, the fi rst error will be dis-
played until remedied. Next error will be signalled only there-
after.
• Consult the Intermec Fingerprint v6.14, Reference Manual for
the meaning of the different error codes. Most errors are caused
by programming errors in custom-made programs. If this is the
case, confer with the creator of the program on what could be
done to remedy the malfunction.
