What's New Under The Lid?
Your new washer will operate differently than your past agitator-style washer.

To allowforhigher spinspeeds, thelid will l ockand the
LidLocked light w ill t urnon.When thislight i slit, the
lid islockedand cannot be opened. When this light i s
blinking, thewasher ispaused. When thislight i soff, t he
lid can be opened. After a cycleisstarted, w ater will e nter
washer and then lock. If you need to open the lid toadd
a garment after this point, you must pressSTARTIPAUSE
and waitforthe lid to unlock. The lid will onlyunlockafter
washer movement has stopped.Depending on when in
thecycleyou tryto pause,it may takeseveral seconds to
several minutesforthelid tounlock. Press STARTIPAUSE
to resume thecycle.
Sounds
At different stages ofthewash cycle, you may hear
sounds and pauses thataredifferent fromthose ofyour
previous washer.For example,you may hear a clicking
and hum atthe beginning of thecycleas the lid lock
goes througha self-test. There will b e different kindsof
humming and whirring s ounds as the agitator tests for
loadbalanceor moves the load. And, sometimes, you
may hearnothingatall as thewasher allowstime for
clothes tosoak.

This washer will perform a series of spins to check
for load balance. During this time, a series of clicks
and a whirring noise signal that sensing technology
is determining if there is an off-balance load.
Spray Rinse
Select cycles default to a spray rinse. During these cycles,
you will hear water enter the washer as the tub spins,
allowing the rinse water to penetrate clothes. Check the
"Cycle Guide" for details.

• After the washer basket fills to the selected water level, the lid must be closed before the wash cycle can start.
If filling stops with the lid open, close lid and press START button.
Fabric Softener Added option must be selected to ensure fabric softener dispenses at the correct time.
