Trigger valve housing leaks
Top cap leaks air
Exhaust leaks
Air leaks around nose when tool is at rest.
(Driver blade in up position.)
Air leaks around nose when tool is in actuated
position. (Driver blade in down position.)
Tool does not cycle
in cold weather
Lack of power; sluggish
Skipping nails; intermittent feed
Fasteners jam in tool

O-ring or valve stem failure
Loose cap screws
Damaged or worn gasket or o-ring
Main seal or o-ring damaged, debris in tool.
Damaged or worn o-rings
Damaged or worn bumper
Tool not receiving air
Valve may be frozen
Damaged or worn o-rings
Broken or damaged driver blade
Low air pressure
Lack of lubrication
Damaged or worn o-rings
Exhaust port blocked or clogged
Depth adjustment set too shallowly
Driver damaged or worn
Air restricted

Nosepiece screws loose
Wrong size/angle fasteners
Dirty magazine
Damaged/Worn magazine

Replace valve using Trigger Valve Kit: Cat.# D510005
Tighten cap screws using appropriate hex wrench
Replace gasket/o-rings using Nailer O-ring Repair Kit, Cat. # D518015
Replace gasket/o-rings using Framing Nailer O-ring Repair Kit, Cat. # D518015
Replace gasket/o-rings using Framing Nailer O-ring
Repair Kit, Cat. # D518015
Replace bumper using: Frame Nailer Bumper Kit, Cat. # D518016
Check air supply
Warm up tool. Lubricate with D
pneumatic oil containing ethylene glycol
Replace gasket/o-rings using Framing Nailer O-ring Repair Kit, Cat. # D518015
Replace Driver Blade using either Kit:
Driver Blade Kit for D51850 Full Round Head Nailer; Cat. # D518501
or Driver Blade Kit for D51825 Clipped Head Nailer; Cat. # D518251
Check air supply
Lubricate tool using D WALT pneumatic tool oil.

Replace gasket/o-rings using Framing Nailer O-ring Repair Kit, Cat # D518015
Disconnect air, remove exhaust plate from top of tool, clean port
Reset depth adjustment
Replace driver blade
Check air supply and couplers
Lubricate tool using D WALT pneumatic tool oil

Tighten nosepiece screws using appropriate hex wrench
Use only recommended fasteners
Clean magazine track and nosepiece
Replace magazine
Replace driver blade using either Kit:
Driver Blade Kit for D51850 Full Round Head Nailer; Cat. # D518501
or Driver Blade Kit for D51825 Clipped Head Nailer; Cat. # D518251
Replace valve using Trigger Valve Kit; Cat. # D510005
Replace o-ring using Framing Nailer O-ring Repair Kit, Cat # D518015
Replace spring using Magazine Pusher Spring Kit; Cat. # D518014
Replace nosepiece
Use only recommended fasteners
Replace driver blade using either Kit:
Driver Blade Kit for D51850 Full Round Head Nailer; Cat # D518501
or Driver Blade Kit for D51825 Clipped Head Nailer; Cat. # D518251
Tighten nosepiece screws using appropriate hex wrench
Ensure nails are feeding properly through the magazine and into the nose.
