SECTION 8-PLUMBING SYSTEMS
6.
Put the sanitizer solution in the fresh water tank: Place the end of the clear plastic
tubing (found inside the basement access panel) into a container of chlorine solution.
7.
Set the (4) valves inside the access panel to the following positions to siphon fill:
(Refer to the 6 in 1 Utility Center section).
V1 is ON
V2 is OFF
V3 is ON
V4 is OFF
8.
Turn the water pump ON and sanitizer will be drawn into the fresh water tank. To aid
in siphoning, place the container on a flat surface approximately 2 feet above the
ground.
9.
After sanitizer has been drawn into the tank, turn the pump OFF and remove the clear
tubing from the container. Finish filling the fresh water tank with fresh water. There
are two ways to fill the tank:
Power Fill Tank: Attach a garden hose to the fresh water connection inlet on the
utility panel. Connect the other end of the hose to a pressurized water source. Turn
the city water / tank fill valve to the tank fill (horizontal) position. Turn the water
source ON. When tank is full, turn off the water, disconnect the hose.
Siphon Fill the Tank: Set valves as in Step 7 above, place the clear plastic tubing
into a container of fresh water. Turn the pump ON. Water will be siphoned into the
fresh water tank. Turn the pump OFF when tank is full.
10. After the recommended amount of sanitizing solution is in the tank, the water tank is
full, and water filter (if so equipped) has been removed:
NOTE: The full system canister (if so equipped) must have the filter removed
Set the four valves to the NORMAL position:
(Refer to the 6 in 1 Utility Center section)
V1 is OFF
V2 is ON
V3 is OFF
V4 is ON
Turn the pump ON which sends sanitized water out of the tank and to the water lines.
11. Open all hot water faucets one by one until water begins to flow continuously and a
chlorine smell is noticeable. Include outside shower faucets (if so equipped).
12. Close the hot water faucets and repeat opening all cold water faucets one by one until
you smell chlorine. Include outside shower faucets (if so equipped).
13. Turn the water pump OFF.
14. Let the solution remain in the tank and lines for at least four hours when disinfecting
with 50-PPM residual chlorine. If a shorter time period is desired, then a 100-PPM
chlorine concentration should be permitted to sit in the system for at least one hour.
NOTE: To thoroughly sanitize the fresh water tank, the unit should be driven
around for a period of time allowing the solution to splash the sides and top of the
tank.
15. After the required period, drain the chlorine solution from the fresh water system (see
Draining the Fresh Water System).
Rinse the system with fresh water:
16. Fill the fresh water tank full of clean (potable) water. Fill fresh water tank:
