Software Suggestions
1. Intermec PrintSet
Install Intermec Printset software and a serial cable. Intermec
PrintSet version 2.4 PC-software is included in the printer com-
panion CD. It can also be obtained from the Intermec Printer Sup-
port Web.
2. Terminal program
Use Terminal program included in Windows (95/98/Me or
NT/2000/XP) and a serial cable. At serial communication, the soft-
ware has to be prepared by a protocol Zmodem and have same
com.-settings on both side. We recommend hardware handshaking
(RTS/CTS).
3. Command prompt with FTP
Use command prompt in Windows Windows (95/98/Me or
NT/2000/XP) and an Ethernet network.
4. Intermec NetPrintSet
Use Intermec NetPrintSet software and a serial cable. Intermec
NetPrintSet rel 1.1 can be obtained from the Intermec Printer Sup-
port Web.

Ethernet Cable
Intermec does not provide any Ethernet cable.The cables are nor-
mally provideed locally. At a straight connection between a host
and printer, a cross RJ45 cable is needed.

How to use Intermec PrintSet ver 2.4 and serial cable.
1. Connect a serial cable between Host and printer
2. Start up the printer and select Fingerprint via Shell and to listen
on serial port "uart1:" on for example baud rate 57,600.
3. Start PrintSet. The program will automatically set the commu-
nication parameters and is ready for use.
4. Select "DataXfer\Change firmware".
5. Send the file of type mcsXXXX.bin.
6. After file is received in printer, it will automatically replace the
firmware and boot up with the new one.
7. The printer's display will automatically show ongoing steps.
The procedure ends with a normal startup of the printer.
