Flooded Engine
If the engine fails to start after repeated
attempts, it may be flooded with excess
fuel. To ciear a flooded engine, turn the
engine stop switch
OFF
and Push the
choke knob down to Fully OPen (B).
Open the throttle
fully
and crank the
engine with
the
electric
starter for
5
seconds. Turn
the engine stop switch
oN and follow the High Air Temperature
Sta!ting Procedure.
BREAK.IN
During the first 600 miles (1,000 km), do
not operate the motorcycle at more than
80% of the lowe. RED ZONE RPM limit
in any gear. Avoid full throttle operation,
and do not operate for a long time at one
speed.
Dufing initial break-in, newly machined
surfaces will be in contact with each other
and these sudaces will wear in quickly.
Break-in
maintenance
at
600
miles
(1000km) is designed to compensate for
this initial minor wear. Timely perform-
dnce of
the brcak-in maintenance will
ensure optlmum service life and perform-
ance from the engne.
NOTE: (U SA ONLY )
After break-in maintenance, remove the
"BREAK-IN"
caution
label from
the
speedometer lens.
