Possible cause
There was not
enough light.
The flash was
on, but the
subject was too
far away.
A light shone
behind the
subject.
Your finger
blocked the
flash.
The scene had
many light-
colored objects,
such as a white
dog in snow.
Solution
Wait for natural lighting
conditions to improve, add
indirect lighting, or adjust the
Exposure Compensation
page 38).
Make sure your subject is within
the flash working distance (see
Appendix B: Specifications
page 105) or try turning flash off
(will require a longer exposure).
Use the
Flash On
page 30) to brighten the subject.
Or adjust the
Compensation
Be sure to move your fingers
away from the flash when you
take a picture.
Increase the

Compensation
