Section 8: Special Recording Modes

8.1 Cache
This is useful for when something might happen unexpectedly, such as when filming sport or actuality.
With Cache turned on, the camera records a few seconds of pictures to the media cards. It
continuously erases and over records the same bit of memory. When the record button is pressed, the
recording simply continues onto fresh memory on the card.
The battery will run down a little quicker with Cache switched on as the camera uses more power
whilst recording.
Menu > Operation > Rec Function > Picture Cache Rec > On
To adjust cache time the function must be ON.
Menu > Operation > Rec Function > P. Cache Rec Time > (Various)
The timecode is forced into time of day (free run) in Cache recording and cannot be set.
When picture cache is active a green icon with the word CACHE appears in the top middle of the
LCD/Viewfinder.
Also note that when recording starts and finishes, in Cache mode the camera takes a little longer to
react than usual.
