2.1 Manual or Servo
Change between servo and manual zoom using the control under the lens
handgrip. This can be a personal choice, or follow these guidelines:
SERVO
– recommended for controlled in-vision zooms
MANUAL
– recommended for speed, including crash zooms
2.2 Zoom speed
On the supplied lens,
on the handgrip. At its fastest, the speed should be more than enough for
quick re-frames.
3.1 Getting shots in focus
Focus is easier if working with a long depth of field, with the lens is zoomed out and/or set at a higher F
number, but not more than F8!
For a fixed set-up shot or interview, zoom all the way in and turn the focus ring
one way then the other until the picture is as sharp as possible. Then pull out and
frame the shot. Ideally the picture must go out of focus when the ring is turned in
both directions to ensure perfect focus. However, this may not be possible if the
lens is set to:
London & HQ: 02 26161 (Option 2)
Bristol: 01 47911
Salford: 01 60200
