3. Ignition Coil & Ignitor Assem-
bly
A: REMOVAL
1) Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
2) Disconnect the spark plug cords from ignition
coil & ignitor assembly.
3) Disconnect the connector from ignition coil & ig-
nitor assembly.
4) Remove the ignition coil & ignitor assembly.

B: INSTALLATION
Install in the reverse order of removal.
Tightening torque:

6.4 N m (0.65 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)
C: INSPECTION
Using the accurate tester, inspect the secondary
coil resistance, and replace if defective.
CAUTION:
• If the resistance is extremely low, this indi-
cates the presence of a short-circuit.
• Ignitor is integrated in coil. Therefore, prima-
ry coil resistance can not be measured.
Specified resistance:
[Secondary side]
Between (A) and (B)
Ω±
12.8 k 15%
Between (C) and (D)
Ω±
12.8 k 15%

Insulation between primary terminal and case: 100
MΩ or more.
