FIELD ADVICE:
Washers
The following is a compilation of findings and advice that hopefully will help to address
many of the issues facing the field currently with the new 27" Neptune Washers.
Vibration/Walking:
1. Level the washer or Riser and
tighten the rear leveling leg-l
nuts. Open the washer and place a
1 to 1-1/2 lb. weight (Use a bath
towel or a pair of jeans) inside th
washer.

Place a 3"X 5" (or similar sized piece of
paper) under each of the front legs. Put
the washer into the Spin cycle. As the
washer increases in speed try to slide
the papers out from under the legs. If
one of the pieces of paper slides out
from under one of the legs, lower this
leg slightly until the paper can not be
removed and repeat the test. Tighten
the leveling leg-locking nut up against
the bottom of the washer or Riser and
tighten the locking nut on the other leg.
Remove the paper from underneath
both legs.

  • Page 2 NOT ON A RISER: Check the tightness of the locking nuts for the leveling legs. If you can still rotate the leg, then the nut is not tight enough. Use the wrench to tighten the nut up against the bottom of the washer baseframe.
  • Page 3 ON A RISER: Install Riser Service Kit part number 35001258. This kit will replace the washing machine leveling legs mounting the washer to the Riser with 10 mm bolts. The kit also includes the non-slip discs (211692), Dependable Care Washer legs (22003428) to replace the legs on the Riser and washers to fit between the Riser and the washer.

    Vibration Noise: Check for loose top cover and retighten rear screws. Front P anel Vibration – Repetitive or popping noise is the complaint. Remove the front panel of the washer. (Note: Sometimes the noise may be originating from a loose dryer front panel, even though the dryer is not operating at the time.) a.
  • Page 5 (Wire harness is tapping against front frame) 4. ON A RISER: Noise from lower access panel vibrating against bottom of baseframe. Add foam pads (part# 33002256 or 74007878) around p erimeter of the access panel if pad are missing. Earlier units d not have pads.
  • Page 6 6. Rattling noise during high spin speed operation. The Rattling Noise is due to the metal shield tapping against the motor mounting bolts, because bent over tabs on the shield are too close to the bolts and make a rattling noise.
