The following messages or service numbers appear on the unit's display when something unusual is detected during startup and use.

≥You are trying to play the DivX VOD content that was purchased with a different
registration code. You cannot play the content on this unit.
≥The programme was copy-protected.
≥The disc may be full.
≥The maximum number of times you can record the programme is exceeded.
≥The disc may be dirty or scratched.
≥Create space by deleting any unnecessary titles. [RAM] [-RW‹V›] [+RW]
[Even if you delete recorded content from DVD-R, DVD-R DL, +R or +R DL, there is no
increase in disc space. Available space on DVD-RW (DVD-Video format) and +RW
increases only when the last recorded title is deleted.]
≥Use a new disc.
≥The disc may be upside down.
≥The unit cannot record on the disc you inserted. Insert a DVD-RAM or unfinalized DVD-
R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW (DVD-Video format), +R, +R DL or +RW.
≥You inserted an unformatted DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, +R, +R DL or +RW. Format the disc
with this unit.
≥The DivX VOD content has zero remaining plays. You cannot play it.
≥The operation is prohibited by the unit or disc.
≥The remote control and main unit are using different codes. Change
the code on the remote control.
Press and hold [ENTER] and the indicated number button at the
same time for more than 2 seconds.
≥If there is no change after turning the unit on and off, consult the dealer where the unit was
purchased.
≥The disc is dirty or badly scratched. The unit cannot record, play, or edit.
≥This message may appear when the DVD lens cleaner has finished cleaning.
Press [< OPEN/CLOSE] on the main unit to eject the disc.
≥Recording may be unavailable due to a disc problem. Use a new disc.
≥The unit's "TV System" setting differs from the TV system used by the disc. Change the "TV
System" in the Setup menu.
≥Deleting an item may be unavailable due to a disc problem. Use a new disc.
≥Displayed when the unit is started. This is not a malfunction.
≥The unit is carrying out its recovery process. You cannot operate the unit while "PLEASE WAIT" is
displayed.
≥There are already 16 timer programmes. Delete unnecessary timer programmes.
≥You have inserted a disc the unit cannot play or record on.
≥You have inserted a new DVD-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW or a DVD-RAM/DVD-RW (DVD-Video format)
recorded on other equipment.
≥The unit is hot.
The unit switches to standby for safety reasons. Wait for about 30 minutes until the message
disappears.
Select a position with good ventilation when installing the unit. Do not block the ventilation holes on
the top or rear of the unit.
≥The unit detected an error while recording or playing with no disc in the disc tray. The unit is
carrying out its recovery process. This process restores the unit to normal operation. The unit is not
broken. Wait until the message disappears.

≥Check and correct the speaker cord connections.
If this does not fix the problem, there is a power supply problem. Consult the dealer.
