Operator error recovery only.
If the remote system receives an erroneous
record from the 5100 and transm its
RESEND, the 5100 resends the message.
(The 5100 will not resend the message if
an overflow is encountered.) This
continues until the message is accepted by
the remote system, or until the retry
operations are interrupted when the ATTN
key is pressed (see ATTN Key). The 5100
keyboard then opens for input, and if
transmitting from tape, the tape can be
restarted with the
~TAPEIN
command.
Operator error recovery only.
Operator error recovery only.
Note: In the BASIC translation, two characters cannot be combined to form a
single character; the overstriking character replaces the existing character. The
OTHER translation is the same as BASIC with one exception: When two
characters are entered to form a single character, the combined character is
replaced with an OUT
(0
backspace U backspace T) character.
&TAPEIN (OPTION T ONLY)
The
~TAPEIN
command specifies that the next message will be transmitted from the
tape file (see Tape Input). The tape file must be opened and specified for input (IN).
The tape is automatically closed when the last record is read from the file. The
